Workshop on the Ecological Debt

Objectives:

  • Analyze the history and extent of the ecological debt industrialized countries have with the countries in the Third World and how the debt continues to plunder them.
  • Become familiar with cases of the Ecological Debt in various Third World countries in order to demonstrate the magnitude of the ecological debt; understand its similar dynamics (with respect to the external debt); understand its social and environmental impacts; and reclaim environmental justice.
  • Form the Ecological Debt Creditors Club of Third World Communities.
